protected mode

how do I get "protected mode on" back. I can't change from off to on. have followed instruction, beginning with double click

Do a System Restore back to when protect mode was "on"

at the bottom of my monitor screen..."protected mode off" supposed to keep out virus. but I can't change to "protected mode on" says to double click to reset did that but doesn't work I want to reset it to "protected mode on"

Tools> Internet Options> Security Tab

Then check Enable Protected mode #1 in Snip then click Apply #2.

Close IE which is (requires restarting IE) and then reopen IE. Done.

You need to have UAC enabled for protected mode, incase you disabled UAC.
