Hello I hope you can help me out. I have been encoutering strange problems with my PC last few weeks and this one causing me the most problems, I have tried system restore off the hdd and a win 7 64bit ultimate dvd without help. I have tried bootrec /fixmbr, bootrec /fixboot and bootsect /nt60 all.
I am unable to get chkdsk /f to work as anytime I schedule it through a windows CD or Windows Safe mode it never seems to actually be scheduled the BSOD pops up again.
Please help I am trying to at least get back into this windows and use AcdSee for a few hours to export a backup of the database which has a lot of important work with metadata/tags. Thank you in Advance.
1) I have have been having problems with my pc for the last few weeks, the most recent was anytime I plugged in a ps3 joystick into any usb 2 or 3 port the screen would turn into crazy colours and the pc locks up. Last thing I did was flash my BIOS in hoping that and installing new USB drivers things would get fixed. I believe that flashing my BIOS might have reset the HDD AHIC/IDE setting and so I was unable to boot into Windows, trying either HDD Bios setting now I get the BSOD screen below.
2) BSOD:
A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer
if this is the first time you've seen this stop error screen, restart your computer.
if this screen appears again, follow these steps:
check for viruses on your computer. remove any newly installed hard drives or hard drive controllers.
check your harddrive to make sure it is properly configured and terminated.
run chkdsk /f to check for hard drive corruption, and then restart your computer
