PSU issues

Well yeah, my PSU when my computer is on constantly "Pings" like every seccond the fan goes round i think its hitting the meshy stuff underneath the fan as when i lower the mesh it stops, but when lowering mesh it goes back up within 2 days :/ i think its to do with it not being straight but the case has a thing that keeps it straight but thats lower, so i have to use something to stop it pinging (put something underneath) that has suddenly stopped working? any help?

Perhaps your problem is not due to the 'mesh going back up', but is caused by the fan blade being too low. If you are mechanically inclined, you could simply disconnect power, remove the PSU and access the fan blade to move the blade further onto the shaft (paying attention to whatever retention method is employed), which should move it away from the 'mesh' (fan guard). This assumes that the blade retention method is not faulty, causing the blade to slip down.

If this is something you'd rather not attempt, remove the PSU and take it to someone qualified to do it for you.

It's most likely something hitting the fan. But be carefull when opening the PSU case. the capacitors and hold a nasty little shock.

The peson who built my pc is an electrician, basically it started when i got it home to my house, it was fine at his, i'll phone him later.

Can't google anything on CIC 650 black edition PSU can you send I link so I can see it? You may not need to remove it and open which will void the warranty in most cases.

OK so looking at the way this mounts in your Zalman Z7 case the PSU's fan cover is facing down. If possible you need to increase the clearance between the fan blades and the cover which should be metal or have a metal brace. If you take a old coat hanger and make a small U shaped bend in the end and then very carefully grab the metal cover in several spots and pull the metal mesh cover away . The other thing you can check is if the four retaining screws to the fan cover are tight.....do this first and pull the cover down second. I'm thinking a length of around 5 inches for the hanger and a small bend in the end with some pliers will give you all the power you'll need. If this is not to your interest then RMA the PSU and start with a new unit as it is still under warranty.
