Puzzle: How do I install keybd and/or mouse using only CMD line?

Keyboard and mouse won't install due to policy. Using CMD line only, how can I install mouse or keyboard or change the policy in the register. I have access to the system disk through another operating system. My system is Windows 7 x64. I have PS/2, USB, or Bluetooth keybd & mouse. keyboard works with CMD on the Windows 7 install disk. Thanks in advance.

You don`t do anything to install a kboard and mouse, you just plug them in and bootup.

If this is an employee owned work PC, we cannot help you.

If this is someone else`s PC you are hacking into, we cannot help you.

Locked out.

As I said in the above post, policy prevents auto installation of keyboard and mouse. I have to turn off the policy or install using Cmd line. I have no keyboard and mouse installed. I'm locked out.

Going to need more information.
A clear description of what happens when the PC starts up, including any messages verbatim, and system specs will give us a place to start.

Do you have a keyboard in BIOS?

The system loads correctly. When it tries to install the keyboard and mouse I get the message "Installation blocked due to policy." The policy was set previously to block installations because a device was auto-installing with every boot. So, you see, I am locked out of installing either the keyboard or mouse. The only keyboard function I have is Cmd line in the Windows 7 installation DVD. I do have keyboard in Bios. My system is Windows 7 x64 Pro with an Intel DG965SSCK motherboard with Pentium D 945 3.4 Ghz Dual Core with 4 Gigs of Memory. XP is installed on another drive and when I boot that I have keyboard and mouse. I can access the C drive for the Win 7 system. I tried to install via the bios but no option to do so (bios too old). Recovery was not active so there's no recovery point to go back to. No recovery disk either. That's why I believe my only option, other than reloading Windows, is through the Command Line.

Do you recall the procedure used to set the policy in the first place?

If this was a recent change you could try using the "Last Know Good Configuration" option in the Windows Boot Menu, accessible from the pre-boot environment by pressing F8 immediately after the BIOS finishes it's routine and before Windows starts.

From a windows administrative command prompt

gpresult /h C:\gpreport.html

Open the html file (it should open in a web browser) to see a report of the policy settings on your machine

I think these questions needs to be answered.

Change policies is done by administrators.
