Quadraphonic setting problems

hi, i tried to connect 2 sets of speaker systems (one with just 2 speakers and a 2.1).
i inserted them on the green and black jack and applied the quadraphonic settings.
it works perfectly fine with AIMP3 but works with nothing else.
in browsers etc the sound comes only from the set of speakers plugged in the green jack.
how can i get them to work and is there any way to configure the way i want them to sound? eg to have 2 center speakers and 1 left, 1 right.

Surround sound is usually determined by the media program. I've seen several reports from users with surround systems that only the front speakers have audio.
