Hi I just recently noticed this folder in my program files (x86) the folder is called BP DOWNLOADER and it contains the file DLBT.dll, my question is this program safe and I don't know where it came from, I tried googling about it and not really anything came up but some sites says its a safe file. Any suggestions?

BP downloader is a malicious piece of software thats used to steal users information, as well as monitor activity and in extreme cases used to remote access your pc.

I suggest running a virus scan.

The best I can find BPDownloader is a monitor program, (it steal information)

What is Downloader-BP - Downloader-BP Information and Removal

You didn't list what anti virus program you have installed.

Using I.E. this would be a good place to start your scans.

http://www.eset.com/us/online-scanner/

Just follow the online instruction. It is easy to do and will take a little time. Don't do anything on the computer while it is scanning.
If you have any question just ask.

Here is something to guide you from a very smart lady.

Their may be more scans needed.

a good virus/malware doesnt habe any physical effects. think of it like a burglary.. the best result for a theif would be for nobody to know theyve stolen anything, so you expecting physical evidence isnt really whats needed.

think if 100,000 peoples details were stolen with that one app and then sold to the highest bidders it would take a long while before if at all all 100,000 peoples details were used fraudulently.

personally id change all your passwords regardless to be on the safe side

I would not have it on my computer.
Another program I would run on my computer would be
AdwCleaner offered at Bleeping Computer.
Malwarebytes is a great program. I have never used AVG.
I still recommend Eset on line scanner.
Like badger906 has stated some of these spying programs do it very quietly hoping they are not discovered.
I do agree with badger906 changing all passwords ect. should be done.

AdwCleaner Download

Hello Mudkips,

I see that you have already deleted the file, good.
Just for future references, next time you have a file like that and want to be sure, you can upload it to VirusTotal which tests suspicious files for malware.
