Hello to all,

I'm running Windows 7 x64 Pro.

I encrypted a word doc and exported the private key/certificate to an external drive.

If I encrypt any further files going forward, will this exported certificate be able
to decrypt these files, or do I have to export again if any new files are encrypted?

Thanks for your help.
Tom

Hello Tom,

Unless user access (step 8 below) for an encrypted file has been changed for the EFS certificate, the same certificate will be used with future encrypted files.

Encrypt or Decrypt a Folder or File

Hope this helps. :)
