question about facebook earning

how does facebook makes money, the advertisement on facebook is almost non existant

i know youtube also has no advertisement but its owned by google, so it can survive without advertisement

Advertisers (and that includes Zynga) pay facebook via 2 revenue streams:

• Click through advertising
• Time spent on site

This is how they generate revenue.
