If I create a System Image on an External Hard Drive would I be able to Install Windows 7 to how it was when I first purchased the computer? My Recovery Partition was damaged and I want to make sure that I am able to Install Windows 7 from the System Image like I did with the Recovery Partition.

It depends when the system image was created, but if you created a system image as soon as Windows was first setup then yes, it would recover your computer to its factory state.

Subsequent images will restore your computer to the exact configuration you had when the image was created.

As a matter of interest, did you create a set of recovery discs before your recovery partition was corrupted?

If so they will also recover your system to its factory state.

No i didnt create the disk. I am creating the system image now. I would be willing to do remote assistance if someone would like to to see if they can tell if the recovery partition is damaged.

Would you suggest that I just delete the partition and add the space to my drive since it doesnt work when I restart and hold the zero key like it did before I installed Ubuntu?
