Question about the SHA2 patches

Hi, I'm wondering if anyone had any issues installing KB4474419 and KB4490628? I'm on Windows 7 SP1 64bit and wanna know if there is any hidden nonsense or the like in the patches and have they installed correctly on other people's 64bit systems without issue.

hi only advice I will give is make a restore point then download and install the update if problems go back to the restore point you made. me personally never had a problem installing any updates.

Did you manage to download and install the updates OK?

only this person was unable to install one of the SHA-2 updates for Windows 7 and getting errors for it.

per MS support KB article 4472027 - those two updates are required before installing new Win7 updates from August 2019 onward.

The KB4512486 security-only and KB4512506 security monthly rollup updates require the KB4474419 SHA-2 update installed first. also MS has issued a revised version of the KB4474419 update for Win7.

Looks the revised version (v2) of the Kb4474419 is the one that was set on tuesday patch. Said already installed.
