I have always avoided deleting thumbnail cache when cleaning my PC, both manually and with Ccleaner. Currently, my thumbnail cache is ~ 180MB.

My simple question is: if I delete the thumbnail cache, will I lose any embedded album art from my AAC (.m4a) files?

Apologies for pumbing this, but I'm really curious since those album art tags are stored as .jpg files in the same album folder, hidden and considered as protected system files.
I wouldn't want to accidentally delete them and have to start all over xD

No, but the next time you access your album art you'll notice it will take a few seconds to rebuild. Not to worry, it is safe to clean thumbnail cashe, although, it's not hurting anything by being there.
