Solved Question - been waiting to get an account registered in Windows 8 !!

Hello to all,
I have registered with the Windows 8 forum because I wanted to try out the consumer preview. They have not sent me a confirm email yet!!! My old acer was gutted and got a used board to run the Athlon X2 +6000 processor I took out of this box. Got it running with Ubuntu 64 bit. But since there is enough power and 4 GB of ram, I thought I'd give the W8 a go. I don't do virtual machine and such. So my question is can the downloaded windows 8 consumer preview be made to boot and do a clean install, and erase the Ubuntu? Thanks for any assistance!

Hello and thanks! Much appreciated. Windows 7 is a GREAT forum, hope 8 has the same people or equally as friendly and helpful!
