I bought the Wireless Desktop 800 from Microsoft (Bestbuy)
Microsoft Keyboard & Mouse: Wireless Desktop 800 | Microsoft Hardware

When I return to my computer after a little while, the mouse wheel scrolling is messed up. Noticed it in IE only, haven't checked it in other programs. It will scroll alot more than I have it set for.
Right now I have it set for 1 line at at time under scrolling/mouse properties.
I change it to 3, click apply, then change it back to 1, click apply, and it still scrolls too much.
I need to restart the PC for the scrolling to be where I originally set it at.

Any thoughts? Maybe a software update is needed?

Batteries are new. I plugged a USB mouse in and will see how that works.
The keyboard/mouse combo was only $40 so their not the best quality parts.

get your reciever closer to your mouse, my bedroom pc has wireless keyboard n mouse.... when the reciver (usb dongle on usb dock lead) falls behind the pc tower, the signle is rather weak and causes your described problems and lag with keyboard presses.

Hi HAVOC,
Personally I see no reason for a wireless keyboard as using it means nothing if you can't read whats on screen.
I use 2 Logitech cordless mice, costing under £35 for both.

I went wireless so I didn't have to hide as many wires when I'm done with my computer setup.
The last one took two days to neatly arrange/hide the wires.

The USB reciever is very small (it fits in the bottom of the mouse when not in use/traveling). I have it plugged into the top USB port on the back of my PC. The PC is on the floor and I don't have front USB ports (I built it that way.

Hi.
First and easy solution use a usb extention cable for the receiver so you can easily put the receiver in any place you wish for better signal.
Also download the most updated keyboard/mouse software driver from Microsoft Keyboard & Mouse: Wireless Desktop 800 | Microsoft Hardware
Uninstall the keyboard/mouse software driver, clean any remaining fragments with CCleaner - Optimization and Cleaning - Free Download
Restart,install the new keyboard/mouse software driver,restart.
Ready! ;)

So, it's been a couple of days with my USB mouse plugged in and no scrolling issues whatsoever.
Guess there is a problem with the other mouse.
Any suggestions for a nice wireless mouse, keyboard/mouse combo? Preferably one without the scroll wheel that tilts side to side.
