Okay so I just got my upgrade disk in the mail. Currently I have windows vista 32 bit and I'm upgrading to Windows 7 64-bit. This means I have to do a custom installation (AND BEFORE ANYONE SAYS IT, YES I KNOW CUSTOM INSTALLATION WIPES EVERYTHING OFF MY HARD DRIVE. I DON'T CARE)

I have a few questions

1. How difficult is it to do a custom install? Do all I have to do is put in the windows 7 disk and then choose custom install?

2. Do I need to know my product key for my windows vista 32 bit to upgrade to Windows 7 64 bit custom install? I don't think I got the cd and product key when I got my computer because windows vista was already installed on my computer when I bought it.

3. Is there any other information I need to know for a custom installation besides the product key for my Windows 7?

Ha oh yeah I just checked the side of my computer and my Vista product key is there. Thank you.

So what do I do now? All I have to do is stick in the windows 7 CD and do a custom install and that's it?

I did look at the links but I'm still confused about one thing. When I choose what drive to install Windows 7 on I'm confused here. I know my Windows Vista is installed on my C drive so I obviously want to install it there. but do I want to format my hard drive or no?

EDIT: Actually I just read it again and it looks like I don't want to format my hard disk with an upgrade windows 7 version
