Hey everyone, I had trouble contacting Microsoft in any way to answer a couple questions, maybe someone here can help!

1. I ordered my computer (Lenovo Y650) on June 12th, it shipped on the 13th, and I received the computer a couple weeks later. Do you know if there are any ways I could get the free upgrade seeing it is so close to the June 26th cutoff date?

2. If there is no possible way.. I was considering buying the Vista/Windows 7 upgrade package for around $130. The reason I was going to do this was so I could put Vista on one of my different computers and upgrade my current to Windows 7. Is this possible and/or legal? It seems to good to be true to be able to get a New OS for my other computer and the Windows 7 upgrade disc for my new one for only $10 more than the Windows 7 upgrade disc.

Thoughts/answers would be nice! Thanks

Good luck getting the free upgrade.

If you can't, you should have no problem upgrading your computer to Win 7 so long as the version of Windows on it is legitimate.

Where are you planning on buying this Vista/Windows 7 upgrade package?

Other Info
All of my systems still run fastest on XP 32-bit for the most part. Win7 is fun to play with, but I still prefer XP for raw speed, security, and functionality.
I am planning to order it right off of Microsoft's website.

If I do order the combo, the upgrade doesn't need to be loaded on the copy of Vista I receive in the mail, correct? It should technically work on any computer with Windows Vista right?

If you didn't get the upgrade coupon with your laptop, you aren't going to qualify for a free upgrade. If the upgrade combo pack is purchased together (never heard of such a thing, so I'm guessing), it wouldn't surprise me if they are tired together somehow. If you want to have Windows 7 on two systems, consider waiting for details on the Family Pack.
