quick, curious question

Good day! I am connected through LAN to my network and I am allowed up to 1.4mbps. Just last week, our neighbor office installed wifi and since the owner is a friend of mine, they gave me their password. They have a 1.8mbps connection to each pc. Now, I am connected both to LAN and wifi and im just curious if both speeds will add up (1.4 + 1.8). That would be sweet! If not, what connection will my pc use as default? By the way, I set both connections to home network.

Hi jaypels. I'm not absolutely sure about this but I think your speed will be determined by your pc. Try Search You may find more info there.

I honestly don't believe you will gain any speed from the other signal to the best of my knowledge your system is grabbing one or the other and won't blend the two. If you open your network sharing and click on change adapter setting you should see your choices and what the system is defaulting to.

no you can't have two internet connections at the same time, working in tandem.

You can only have one at a time as Mickey said. In addition, the strength of the wifi signal will vary depending on your distance from the router, solid objects like walls in between and interference caused by similar frequency devices in the vicinity. My guess is unless you are very advantageously placed relative to that router, you'll be better off using the LAN.
