Well poop, I accidentally did a quick format on my data drive (actually I intended to do it after some reconfigurations, but I did it too soon in the process). I have tried a few of the free utilities and none seem to recover anything worth a nickel. I figure I'll just break down and buy a data recovery suite. Hmph.

Anybody have and recommendations on a good software package that is best with recovering files from an inadvertently quick formatted disk?

Thanks for any feedback.

Thanks for the link! I used PC3 Data Rescue and was able to recover pretty much all of my data. I am happy with that. But do have another question... The files are in a directory tree listing by type, ie, file extension (txt, bmp, jpeg, avi, html, xls, ppt...) How do I get them back into the original file structure that was on the quick formatted disk? Is it possible to do that, or do I have to physically rebuilt the file structure? I not sure I could to that.
Thank again for the help.

If whatever recovery software you try gives only the files and not the original folder/file structure, try GetDataback Simple. https://www.runtime.org/data-recovery-software.htm If the free demo version shows your original folder/file structure, then you need to buy the licence to copy.. The free demo version also enables you to preview the files to check the integrity.
