Quick question about BSOD

Is a page file required for a Kernal (or smaller 256k) dump with BSODs? Windows generated a message when I disabled page files (due to me having 8GB of RAM I never, ever see go past 4GB used) stating it may not be able to generate a dump if there isn't a large enough page file (something like 400MB I believe).

If I can leave page files (virtual memory) disabled and still have my BSODs dumped to a file I have specified on my desktop I will leave it alone and ignore the message.

Nope sorry memory needs to be dumped to a page file for when the computer is rebooted. generally we dont need the entire memory file so the kernel will do but even it has to be written to the page file

There really isnt any harm in having a small page file (in fact some apps insist)

Okay, so I have re enabled my page file. It's system managed to 8 GB (which is way more than enough). However, to make the file easier for me to find I set the dump path to "C:\Windows\Desktop\" and Windows keeps telling me that my page file is disabled or less than 400MB, which neither is true. Screenshots are attached.
