Quick question regarding RTM - Maybe not so solved?

Hi all, very new here and already with a question.

As I understand it there is an RTM version of Win 7 64 bit out there, and also that using a simple "rearm" trick a person could use this unactivated for 120 days (hopefully with no annoying popups/reminders). My question is, if someone did this then purchased Win 7 at the end of October could they just use that purchased serial number/activation on the RTM version they had installed... or would a total clean install be required?

Thanks for any help, nice forum you have here.

PS- RTM I'm seeing is 7600.16385.090713-1255_x64fre_client_en-us_Retail_Ultimate-GRMCULXFRER_EN_DVD.iso

I just came across this on another forum, just as a heads up to anyone installing the RTM and hoping for no reinstall once retail hits.

Just a small warning. How windows images worked before (at least back in XP) were the oem technet/msdn images were slightly different than the Retail store boxed version and the activation keys were NOT interchangeable (though there might have been a hack to get them to work. I can't remember). So if you had a retail box key then you needed a retail image. If you have a technet/msdn subscription generated key then you need the msdn iso (which I'm guessing what this leak is).

I have no idea if vista and/or win 7 will follow the same pattern.
