In Windows XP when we would right click and open a quickbooks file within a folder we would get a Quickbooks tab that would tell us version, etc. Also, when we would get the rollover description of the folder the Quickbooks information would also be there. This is all gone with Windows 7. Does anyone know if there is a way to get those features?

Thank you.

Try this go navigate to the quickbooks executable and right click on it, click on "properties", then the "compatibility" tab then click "change settings for all users" then check the box "run this program in compatibility mode" for Windows XP SP3" and also check the box that says "disable visual themes" then click apply and ok and close all of it and reopen the program hopefully you will see your tabs. I have to do this for some programs that are older and have never been up to date with windows 7. So hopefully that will help you out...:)

I tried this today and was unsuccessful. It's a shame we've lost this feature in W7. My users are a little more disorganized as a result.

The QB file manager is supposed to organize all QB files and open the proper version when you double-click the QBW file but it doenst always load. Some files have to be opened while in QB.
