Anyone know of a good forum where I can ask questions about quicken and how it handles account types? (I'm assuming the term "good" will negate suggestions for the intuit community...).

Thanks

Hi,
Welcome!

I would suggest the "Software" forum. However, "account types" and such are the domain of Intuit and specifics about Quicken may be too obscure for this site. Your comment echoes what many might say as their forum is not nearly as technical as this one.

And their software is poorly written. It works, but it generates errors behind the scenes and is just plain buggy. It has been that way for decades. Still popular though...

I've been using Quicken since MS Money went belly up.

Quicken is only popular due to the lack of competition. I'd jump the Quicken ship if there was another choice.

Thanks for the responses. There used to be a newsgroup (remember those...?) for Quicken and Quickbooks. I haven't used newsgroups since my IP stopped carrying the NG servers, but maybe I'll get a cheap supernews account or something. I'll post back here if I find something useful.

As for Quicken, I actually find it works pretty well, as does QB. I've been using QB since the late 90s and Quicken since the early 90s (I started with Quicken for DOS).

Intuit's arrogance, however, is still alive and well. And the lack of competition is a sad reality. I hate to think of when it all goes subscription based cloud software. Identity theft heaven (not to mention software company's wet dream).

Again, thanks for the thoughts.
