The problem is that too many righteous bloggers out there will stand up and defend their own heroes and malign the naysayers and those out in left field.
Guess what? Blogs are blogs - they are opinions, not facts. If you believe what is in a blog without any research of your own, you're an idiot. In fact, you're a bigger idiot than Kennedy (and he obviously already does that).
If we all want the idiots out there to STFU, it's really really simple -
"STOP COMMENTING ON THEIR GD BLOGS!!!!"
The more traffic you generate to their sites, the more they can go back to their editors and say "See what I did today?" and the more advertising revenue they generate. Boycott the jackass, and spread the word to do so, and in a few months you'll see him crying because "Nobody likes me." A few months after that he gets moved to another job - hopefully one less controversial.
The same holds true for forum flamers and trolls - stop feeding them. The more you feed them the better they feel about themselves. If you look at one particular responder, Lindy, who continuously baits the readers with stupid *stuff*, you'll see - she is doing it because she thinks she is superior but who, in reality, is probably some overweight, out of work whiner who has nothing better to do than troll through bogs and stir up *stuff*. Guess what? I could have easily said something to her about her asinine posts, but she is actually *reveling* in counting who responds to her posts - so I take her power over me away - I don't respond. Not even to suggest a temporary ban on her since her posts are obviously irrelevant and off topic.
Let them damn themselves - and they will eventually get taken out of the loop.
