Hi, i just got a new Psu for my computer from my dad who got it from his job becouse they didnt need it, unfortunatly i now figured that its a pretty crappy psu.. With 2 12V rails 1 for the motherboard 15Amp and 1 for graphics cards 18Amps, I whant to upgrade my Gpu from a Geforce Gt 430 from asus to an Radeon 7770
But The Radeon 7770 says on a Gpu power requirement list that it needs a minimum 500W psu with 19Amps,
What happens if i just dont care and uses it with an 18amp psu insead?
And second, Lets say i run games like farming simulator 2013 at maybe 20 fps at maximum with my Gforce Gt 430 and tripple core AMD phenom 2.4Ghz, 4Gb ddr2 Ram. will i get a much higher fps with the radeon 7770 or will the cpu bottleneck too much?

I hope hanging up your harddrives in rubber-bands for noise reasons isn't too harmful for the drives :S, but eh, rather silence than lasting drives.. :|
You've already been advised in your other thread that the PSU you just received is marginal at best. The last component you want to skimp on is the PSU. Even the best PSUs should not be pushed to their limits and the one you have is not even close to being one of the best. You will be risking damaging or destroying your other components—CPU, MOBO, GPU—by using an inferior and underpowered PSU.

One Psu can kill a $1000 worth of joy

I would get something of quality and move on from there

the old PSU was probably replaced because it already had degradation that to me already speaks volumes on what could be wrong with it

I wouldn't even bother unless you are building a test rig

Well first, the psu im using now "my new one" is a completely new one right out of the box, the old one did i replace becouse it needed to come out, it was very bad, had a lot of coil whine, only 300W etc.
And i will probably just keep on playing on my laptop :( i just dont whant to get inte more crap now, i was happy that i finally got a new psu with 500W, ends up beeing pure garbage, the hardrive on the computer always works at max, its windows vista, slow cpu, small case..
if the psu burns up i dont care anymore its still no idea to upgrade it becouse of all the expensive upgrades i have to make, i dont have any money, the computer is bearly worth 200-300$ or 2500kr...

i do make same questions on different threads just becouse i never really get any full help and when i get help and i reply with some more info i dont get anymore replies so i just dont get the help i need, hoping that another tread will help me more...

and yeah i know.. the psu is not high quallity at all, i was happy i got a 500W but unfortunatly its not everything on a psu
