My first thought is to ask if there are any patches to the games you're playing? Second thought is to ask how long has this been happening? Did you recently install newer drivers?

I just got the games and the processor and motherboard are new. Should I check some older games I played with the last mobo and processor? I'm a little worried about crashing it too many times.

Did you build this yourself or did it come as a complete system?

If it was a complete system, then it needs to be returned. If you just bought it and it can't run those two games, then whoever sold it to you has some explaining to do. There should be no reason for a new system at stock clocks to be acting this way.

If you built this yourself, are you overclocking anything?

I asked if you upgraded drivers recently because ATI drivers are notorious for not always installing correctly over an existing set of ATI drivers. To clean that mess up, you uninstall your ATI graphics drivers through Add/Remove Programs (express uninstall), then when you reboot, boot into Safe Mode (tap the F8 key at reboot), and run Driver Sweeper.

Guru3D - Driver Sweeper Download and install this. You can't run it in Windows normal mode, it only works in Safe Mode. Once booted to Safe Mode, run Driver Sweeper, put a check mark by ATI/AMD and then run it. Reboot, install the latest AMD drivers.

The games are patched. Tried the drivers uninstall: did not work. System was put together by father a few years back: the PSU and drives are the original ones from about four years ago. Video card is from a year and a half ago. Just put in the mobo, processor, and ram. Not overclocking anything

Oh... that changes things.

Do you have a newer PSU you could test?
