I am looking into setting up Raid 1 on my windows 7 machine,
however i will be using software raid and i have read that there are a couple of issues with this.
so i have a couple of questions that any help on would be greatly appreciated.

If i set up the Mirror drive it needs to be dynamic, can you boot windows 7 from a dynamic drive?

If the main boot drive fails will i be able to boot from the mirrored drive?

i have google'd and found conflicting answers on this, and i would ideally just like some clarification on the subject, before i set to doing it only to find out it doesn't work the was i want it to.

any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks

All you can do is image the drive, in a raid AKA redundant drives you still need to boot from the primary partition.

So what is the point in Raiding an operating system?

I dont get it, its meant to make an identical copy of the drive, yet you cant use it to boot from if the main drive fails?
