RAID Across Multiple PCs?

This may just be an idle thought, but I'm wondering if one could setup a RAID configuration across two or more PCs? I know that one PC can have more than one RAID system in it, and even outside of it, with controller card going to an external case, but how about two totally separate PCs only connected via a Wireless adapter on a network?

Seekermeister, I usually don't post in topics I know nothing about. But, to keep your question from being unanswered, I will say no. I don't see how it is feasable. I won't say impossible, because I believe anything is possible, but I can't see how it could be done unless one machine's BIOS could communicate with the other machine's BIOS.

Seekermeister, I usually don't post in topics I know nothing about. But, to keep your question from being unanswered, I will say no. I don't see how it is feasable. I won't say impossible, because I believe anything is possible, but I can't see how it could be done unless one machine's BIOS could communicate with the other machine's BIOS.

I wasn't exactly thinking about anything involving the BIOS, because in the case of some external cases, and some internal controller cards, they have their own RAID functions built in. It doesn't appear that what I was imagining exists, but I was thinking of a wireless network adapter plugged into a PCIe slot, that could communicate between machines and mirror one to the other. I do think that the idea is feasible, but not currently available.

Thanks, interesting article. But as you said, it isn't what I want. I only read about half of it, before skipping to the last paragraph, but I got the impression that his method might work for specific files/folders, but not for the system as a whole.
