RAM arrangement.

Motherboard: ASUS M3A78-EM.
RAM: 2x2GB Corsair XMS2 DDR2 @ 800MHz.

Just thinking at loud here.

I've been wondering...

What would be the ideal arrangement for my 2 sticks of RAM?

Ideal meaning, getting the most out of them (what would be the fastest setup).

Right now I have them as it follows:

Slot 1 (first yellow DIMM): Empty.

Slot 2 (second yellow DIMM): Stick #1 (2GB)

Slot 3 (first black DIMM): Empty.

Slot 4 (second black DIMM): Stick #2 (2GB).

Thoughts?

i assume your slot arrangement is the same on my other computer with an asus amd board (athlon 64x2 5400 b.e.). slots 2 and 4 populated would mean that you'd be in single channel mode. for dual channel, populate either: all slots; slots a1 and b1; slots a2 and b2

a1 & b1 = yellow DIMMs?
