Mixing ram is an iffy proposition in win 7. At best the faster RAM will slow down to the 1333. At worst it may be unstable, and even crash.

We recommend you buy the same make, model, latency, timing, etc and if you can buy them all in the same package.

Some identical ram purchased on different days may not even work.

A matched kit is the best bet.

Many have good luck mixing and matching, other nothing but trouble.
A kit will ensure it will work as it should.

We don't know what motherboard you have. Go to the manufacturers web site and look up your motherboard. Under downloads you will find a QVL list (Qualified vendors). It will show the ram that was tested on your motherboard. It will show different manufacturers, frequency, voltage and timings. It will give you an idea of what will run well on your motherboard. I agree with the others, Buy ram in packages that have been tested to run together. Mixing ram can work, but you are asking for problems.

No one can tell you if RAM with a different model number will work.

RAM is a very fussy component.

The best thing you can do is identify the exact model number of your motherboard and then go to the motherboard manufacturer's web site and look at the Qualified Vendor's List. If there is no such list, inspect the motherboard's RAM specifications. Then buy RAM that matches exactly, in all specifications (ECC, non-ECC, voltage, speed, etc).

You could also go to Crucial.com and enter your motherboard make and model number into their configurator. The configurator will then list Crucial RAM guaranteed to work with your motherboard. Then go buy that Crucial RAM from a dealer.

Or you can just guess and hope and maybe you will have good luck and maybe you won't.

Knowing how cranky motherboard/RAM combinations can be, I would not just guess and hope, but it's your choice.

I agree 100% with everything ignatzatsonic posted above, but would like to add one thing. I would never buy ram from Ebay. I would recommend you purchase it from a qualified dealer who deals in computer parts.

Crucial has a UK web site that sells to Ireland.

You can also use their configurator if you know your motherboard manufacturer and model number.

To reiterate Don't buy PC parts in general from eBay. Personally I never buy from amazon either, neither are electronics dealers and any warranty issues that arise will be iffy to get resolved.
Do you have Google in Ireland? It should point you to an local or online seller.
