I have an old laptop that I installed Windows 7 Professional 32bit on. I know it (32bit) can't use more than 3GB of RAM but I want to be sure the hardware can actually handle the additional RAM. It's currently running 2x512MB (DDR). I'd like to pick up some 1GB cards or even a 2GB card. How do I know if my hardware will recognize it? Or does it matter??
Also, I realize that it would be more effort than it's worth to try and replace the MB/Processor but are there any other modifications I can do to get this running better? It already has a 7200RPM hard drive.
As always, any help would be appreciated!
