MOBO G41M-ES2L Just wanted some advice on upgrading the ram in this pc. Not much multitasking. Processor 2.33 Ghz Intel core 2 Quad Q8200 Mechanical HD. This is basically my parents pc. a Newegg link please. Thanks.

If you use that pc on the crucial site, it can do a scan and tell you what is suitable - then you can look around for the best deal.

Or you can just type in the motherboard

That tells you it is DDR2-PC2-6400 240 pin - single sided for that machine

Then you know what to look for at your preferred vendor. For a machine that old, ram is available for pennies at places such as cex- for example

Crucial want £56 for 2x2gb - can be had at cex for £4

@S1W2, typing in motherboard spec guarantees RAM MOD internal architecture will meet mobo requirement, correct?

Are you running a 64 bit version as only that will see more than 4 gig
