Hey there.

Just wanted some advice as last time I bought some RAM it turned out to be pretty useless so just making sure its right this time.

My girlfriends Presario V6150EA is still going and I advised her to upgrade to windows 7. She thought this was a good idea but as the laptop comes with 1024Mb (2x 512Mb) I though that windows 7 would run a lot better with more RAM.

I looked up the specs for her laptop and the best (and cheapest) I could find was:
http://www.ebuyer.com/product/95741

Is this compatible with the Presario V6150EA and would I be able to just buy 2 (2x 1Gb) of them and replace the old memory for it?

Thanks for your time and any help!

In my opinion, and of many others, dont mix and match. RAM is cheap, buy all at once.

You are correct: Win 7 will much better with more ram.

Also correct: Replace both modules. Never mix.

If that model will accept 2 x 2GB, this would be still better.

If not, be sure to get either a SD or af fast usb 2.0 4GB stick to use as "ReadyBoost" memory. This will bring a slight, but not overwhelming, improvement.

I recommend going to the manufacturer's website to find out which memory modules are compatible with the computer. Sometimes this is the full spec documentation for a computer.

More important is to run the Microsoft Upgrade Advisor to make sure if Win 7 will run or how on the computer.
