Solved RAM upgrade

Hello All,
I am looking to add more RAM to my computer. However I'm not
sure how much to add. I have just read an article about RAM and
from what I could tell it sounds like I would benefit by adding RAM.
I have an Acer Aspire X3910, w/4GB of RAM, CPU DualCore Intel Pentium E5700, 3000 MHz (15 x 200), L1 Code Cache 32 KB per core, L1 Data Cache 32 KB per core,
L2 Cache 2 MB (On-Die, ECC, ASC, Full-Speed), Hard Drive Drive WDC WD6400AAKS-22A7B2 (596 GB) 7200 RPM (avg. seek time 8.9ms), 2x Kingston DIMM Synchronous 2048MB 1333MHz 64bit. And two empty slots.
Any help will be appreciated.

Try running the Crucial memory scanner, which will then offer recommendations based on your system. Obviously, you can buy RAM from where you choose, but at least you'll have an idea of what you need.

If you are using Win 7 64-bit, you can benefit by upgrading to 8 GB of ram. If you are running 32-bit, 4 GB is all that OS can use.

With a 64 bit system I would match the ram that is in your computer. Brand, part # and volts. It will be wrote on the side of the ram.

4 GB is not some small amount of RAM, so what is it that you do with the computer that makes you think you need extra memory? I'm taking a guess and making assumptions, but you might not need extra memory.

I would like to increase to 8GB, however I can't find
the exact the same RAM that I have installed on
my computer. I may have to buy all new.

I tend to run up to 3 apps at the same time and surf the web
at the same time. The apps I run are audio visual.

You already have this configuration: 2x Kingston DIMM Synchronous 2048MB 1333MHz 64bit

You have two spare slots and you want 8GB so just buy two more sticks exactly the same as you've already got.

3 apps at a time doesn't sound like much at all, to be honest. Take a look in Resource Monitor just to make sure you are really working your existing memory. I'm not trying to sound like I'm arguing with you. I just don't want to see someone spend money that isn't needed.

Now is the time to buy ram, from what I have been reading the price is way down.

If you aren't sure what you are looking for, that makes me go back to my early question: What makes you think you need more memory in the first place? Again, I'm not trying to argue, but if you were sure you needed to double your memory, you'd have a reason or an example of why your current 4 GB was holding you back.

I think it might more of a want thing because you can do a lot of work with 4 gigs on Windows 7/64.
