RAM upgrade

Hey guys I have a Sony VAIO VPCEB1S1E/BJ. It has
CPU - Intel Core i5 M430 2.27,
Intel® HM55 Express Chipset,
RAM - 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3, Memory Specification PC3-8500, Memory Speed (MHz) 1066 (and as I understand it is 7ns).
Now I would like to upgrade my RAM memory by replacing it with two 4GB RAMs. I would like to know if it is possible to replace them with RAM which has for example highre memory speed (higher then 1066MHz), or lower CL/(ns) (as I understood as lower as good) and so on. I mean besides having more memory to have other caracteristics also higher then previous ones!

Above is a list of Crucial brand RAM for that Sony.

It appears your motherboard will support 1066 or 1333 speed RAM.

But it's unlikely you would be able to tell the difference other than in a benchmark of some type.

I can understand the upgrade with a faster Dimm - if the mobo allows it. But more than 4GBs will very, very rarely buy you anything.

So ignatzatsonic, what you are saying is that there is not big diffidence 1066 and 1333 RAM???

And "whs" what you are saying is that having 8 GB RAM instead of 4GB is not gonna improve much???

Yes to the first question. Yes to the second question in most cases.

8 GB will make a difference only if you are currently using the entire 4 GB that you now have. That's possible but not the usual case. I very rarely use more than 3 GB. I'd never even notice if someone secretly sneaked into my PC and upgraded me to 8 GB from my current 4 GB.

Most people that have 8 GB do so because RAM is at all-time low prices. If RAM were $50 per GB, 8 GB would still be relatively uncommon.

Absolutely, look at my 8GBs - most of the time it is empty. Some more may be used for caching, but that will fill up very slowly and only after a full day's work. But I have never seen it to go over 4GB.
