Hello sevenforums!

So I'm having these random bsod's. Usually not long after startup. Like after opening a folder and a document or only playing iTunes. I've done some research myself and I think it's the memory. Although memtest didn't report any problems (ran it long long time).
I haven't tried running my system with other ram or only 1 of 2 sticks yet...

System specs:
Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit
AsRock 870 Extreme 3
AMD Athlon II x4 640 (mild overclock to 3.3ghz)
4gb of ocz gold value ram ddr3 (changed timings and latencies due to overclock)
AMD HD5770 Vapor-x (overclocked for 24/7 use to 900/1300)

All the latest drivers have been installed correctly. It happend before the overclocks too, so that can't be it.

We find that it's bad mojo not to listen to the owner's suspicions.
I'd suggest running MemTest immediately after waking up (so the system is COLD)
Then also run Prime95 for at least 24 hours (link to it here: Hardware Diags )
you can also run FurMark to check your graphics card's memory if you'd like.

SP1 isn't installed, please do the following:
Installing Windows 7 Service Pack 1
1. Visit the PC manufacturer's website and update ALL drivers. DO NOT use Windows Update or the "Update drivers" function of Device Manager.
2. Check Device Manager for any unknown/disabled devices - if there are unknown/disabled devices, fix them with the latest drivers from the device manufacturer's website (not the PC Manufacturer)
3. Visit Windows Update and get all updates
4. Visit Windows Update and get Service Pack 1 (usually under Important Updates). Read these notes for installing SP1: Steps to follow before you install Windows 7 SP1 and Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 from the Microsoft Download Center
5. Visit Windows Update and get any other available updates

Then, remove all custom settings/overclocks and see if the system remains stable that way (in case it's the overclock causing the problem). Even if the overclock has been stable for a while, it's possible that it's damaged something in the system and that it may be causing problems. The only way to tell (with an overclock) is to return the system to default values and checking for stability without the overclock.

Are you using a USB keyboard? If so, it's safe to ignore the error about the PS2 keyboard in the perfmon report
Please visit the PC manufacturer's website and download/install the chipset drivers for your system. The USB controller drivers are missing, and this may be fixed by updating the chipset drivers.

MSI Afterburner (components are also a part of RivaTuner/EVGA Precision) are known to cause BSOD's on Win7 systems. Please uninstall it immediately.

I suspect that the overclock is the cause here, with MSI Afterburner being the next most likely cause. Post back if problems continue after removing the overclock
