Random BSOD 0x0F4 and 0x07A with memory dump failure 0xC0000010

I attempted to update the firmware for the SSD again several times last night, but again it failed with the message “not found any drive” at the second stage of the program. And please note the first stage of the program as well as the BIOS and Windows does recognize and can "find" the drive. I also tried using different SATA ports and confirmed all of the settings for the firmware flash were correct, but it still would not complete.

After some research, I've found that a lot of people seem to have this problem as well when attempting to update Vertex drives to 1.7 and for many of them the only way to complete it is to perform a “destructive flash”, which basically erases the drive requiring to reinstall Windows or restore from a system image. And if that's the case, I would just assume do a fresh install, defeating the purpose of what I'm try to do and why I'm here, for the time being anyways.

But again, the systems been up and running for over two days with no issue, so that's good.

I'd also still like to figure out the cause of no dumps being made, but I'm not sure what else can be done at this point.

I have already given my answer to the above..... 4 days back of which the hotfix didn't work and the below option

The error code 0XC0000010 means (STATUS_INVALID_DEVICE_REQUEST) is caused when windows cannot dump the files to the storage device and usually the storage controller driver is corrupted in such cases.. Now you need to update the chipset drivers as well as the SSD firmware which for you SSD is at 1.7 .. to resolve this.

This is also the reason why you cant update your firmware as well...,, since you have already tried it with other slots and cable... call up the SSD manufacturer and get it replaced with new one with the new firmware..if it is still under warrenty

So now that we should be back on track, were you able to get anything out of the logs from 2 days ago or were they no help?

I have already told you all i could find from the logs.... Since you have already done a reinstall of windows ... if the BSOD occurs post the dump here or if no dumps .. post the logs...

Right, and 4 days ago or since then I confirmed the hotfix was already installed by Windows Update and the chipset already had the most up-to-date driver, along with everything else from my first post.

The last thing you advised to do would be the firmware update, which as you know failed.

And while talking about the the SSD. As stated in my quoted post above, the firmware update problem seems to be a common issue and may not necessarily mean the drive is "bad" or need replacing. And as also stated the only resolve is to perform a “destructive flash” or just replace it. Although some people said they still had issues updating a brand new drive and needed to do with the "destructive" method still. Basically saying it could be a software issue with the updater and not a hardware issue.

But my question still was simply to ask if there is anything else that can be checked or trouble shot, ie. other drivers, programs, etc, at this point, besides destructive flashing the SSD or replacing it?

I've also seen other people talk about a corrupt Paging File, is that a possibility? I ask you because you're the pro here.

Otherwise, I'll assume your thoughts are that since both issues are here (no dump made and firmware update failure) it points to a "bad" drive, but again consider what I wrote above about the firmware flash issues, even with a brand new drive.

So now that we should be back on track, were you able to get anything out of the logs from 2 days ago or were they no help?

I'm sorry, but the last time you mentioned the recent logs you said...

Yes i did have a look in your logs...

But before i continue...

And never said anything about them, but I'll assume you found nothing helpful in them.

Also, Windows has not been reinstalled recently (it was almost two years ago though), the PCs has been running fine for what ever other reason.

You think it could just be a coincidence or something with the Nvidia Drivers or Update Service I did and wrote about in my last post?

Again, thank you for the time and help!

Ok you don't want to do the destructive method because for some people it didn't work... and you think it won't work for you as well.......and you don't want to get it replaced .... but want to simply ask AGAIN if anything else that can be checked ??? :banghead: Ok.. if you wish to listen and DO it ...then follow the below steps.

1. Make an image of your windows installation from your SSD......

2. Remove the SSD and keep it aside

3. Since you have an HDD... partition the drive and use the image to make a copy of the SSD on to the HDD.....

If this is too complicated for you.....try this step then

1. create a partition on the HDD and install windows fresh on it with all the software you use now....

There are certain things you can deduce out of this exercise......

1. If a BSOD happens... dumps will surely be created !!..in which case... the SSD was the issue...

2. If a BSOD happens due to graphics... then the most probable cause would be the hardware... as you will be installing the latest drivers....

3. If a BSOD happens due to other reason it would show up in the dumps and logs..

Let me know
