Hi,

I had windows 7 professional installed for almost a year now with no major problems. Then just yesterday I started to get the BSOD randomly when I start Windows. I have no idea what is actually causing it. I have ran boot scans and scanned for any harmful virus.

The result was that my antivirus (avast) managed to delete some virus during the boot scan. However, during the times my laptop does run the antivirus would flag an issue with a rootkit error on some hidden boot section. I tried to delete it but no luck.

So the question is that is there any way to solve this problem or is the best way just to reinstall the windows 7. Which I would like to avoid since I am in the middle of the school term.

I have managed to get and read up on the .dmp files but I dont really understand what is going on.

Your Avast software is blamed, remove it with the uninstall tool and use MSE
