Hi!

I would like to say thank you in advance to anyone who's taken the time to read this post.

I've been getting blue screen crashes for the past month or so and it seems to be getting progressively worse. The BSODs began occurring about once every couple of days, now they seem to happen about 5 times a day. They seem to occur completely randomly - they can happen upon startup to even hours working perfectly and they don't seem to be associated with any particular program that's running. Most of the time the computer will crash with a BSOD but sometimes it will freeze or slow all processes right down (eg mouse would take couple minutes to respond and move to a different place on the screen). I've had this computer for less than a year and it works great in all other aspects (check my profile for specs).

I tried figuring out what was causing the problem and I bluescreenview as well as WinDbg to pinpoint the drivers responsible. The driver causing most of the crashes is ntoskrnl.exe, others are hal.dll, fvevol.sys, HIDCLASS.SYS and Ntfs.sys. When I looked them up they were all part of the Windows Update, and yes, my Windows is completely up to date. WinDbg reported that it was a memory corruption problem but I've run a memory diagnostic test and all seems fine. I'm at a loss as to how to remedy this, please help me out!

I have attached the .zip file containing all the crash info. I would really appreciate if anyone would have a look at it. Let me know if you need more info.

Thanks again!

Ran memtest86 and found heaps of errors. I have two ram sticks and ran memtest again with each individually. One of them had errors and the other was fine. It was still under warranty so I was able to get it replaced. No errors running memtest now with both ram in place. Will see if I get any more crashes but I don't think I will. Thanks! :)
