Lately, I had been noticing my computer randomly rebooting. Having checked with BlueScreenView, I found it to be a "THREAD_STUCK_IN_DEVICE_DRIVER" error.

Knowing that a clean install of Win7 64 was in order due to a series of upgrades coming down the pike, I did a clean install earlier than planned. So far, I've got the case and case fans replaced, as well as cleaned off/replaced silver on my CPU.

Unfortunately, I do not have the error dumps for before the clean install, but I can at least say that the issue is still the "THREAD" error. The only difference I've noticed is the addition of atikmdag.sys and hal.dll being mentioned alongside dxgkrnl.sys.

As far as I know, I've got the most recent drivers for my video card, as that was one thing taken care of promptly after the clean install.

Install Service pack 1 and all other windows updates. Otherwise the system will remain vulnerable to threats including BSODs.

Apparently you are using a BETA display driver, and BETAs are not stable. Uninstall the installed display driver using Display Driver Uninstaller. Then install the CCC15.7.1 only.

Let us know for any further BSOD after doing it. Additional measures might be needed depending on the situation.

Ooof, silly me. I know the issue persisted before the clean install, but perhaps that, coupled with a wipe/newest install of the graphics drivers will fix the issue.

For now, we wait, and see what happens.
