Random BSOD: DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE with 0x0000009f, slow PC

Hello,

friend of mine has problem on one computer, it is Lenovo E540 with i7 CPU and is incredible slow - after Win logon he has to wait like 2 or 3 minutes to be able to work normally, PC is freezing sometimes, it is slow and displaying some errors occasionally.
Sometimes he also gets BSOD, usually (always) it is DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE with 0x0000009f, I am attaching dump files and info about those BSOD.

Pls, what can be wrong? I don´t know how to analyze those dumps.
Can it also affect speed of whole PC?

Attached all dump files from his PC, there is also txt with info from NirSoft's Blue Screen View. Sorry, I first gathered dumps then saw info about SF Diagnostic Tool, but I believe it is grabbing dump files that I attached.

The BSOD is caused by ASIX AX88179/178A USB 3.0/2.0 to Gigabit Ethernet Adapter by ASIX Electronics Corp. (I guess yours is USB3?)

Seeing such a mess, I would suggest you to uninstall ESET Smart Security, at least as a test. Use Microsoft Security Essentials as your antivirus with windows inbuilt firewall, and free MBAM as the on demand scanner.

Download and install Intel USB3 Drivers. https://downloadcenter.intel.com/default.aspx

Also download and install Intel® PROSet/Wireless Software and Drivers for Windows 7.

Free up the startup. Windows does not need any other program to auto start with it, but the auto start programs often conflicts and causes various problems including BSODs.

1. Click on the Start button
2. Type “msconfig (without quotes), click the resulting link. It will open the System Configuration window.
3. Select the “Startup” tab.
4. Deselect all items other than the antivirus and the touchpad driver SynTPEnh.
5. Apply > OK
6. Accept then restart.

Let us know the result. Also let us know ... do you use the Onelink Dock USB gigalan?

I have also ESET on my computer and (I hope) there are no problems.
Yes, he is using that Onelink Dock USB

I´ve also checked msconfig before and except some Lenovo apps it looked guite empty. But will take a look at that once again.

ESET is excellent. I used it over years (4 years exactly). But it causes issues in some systems like any other AV. An unfortunate situation.

As Onelink Dock USB is in use, update the driver to it, too.
