Morning.
I have a windows 7 Pro machine 64 bit. I am getting BSOD very random. Last week it happened in the middle of using Excel and this week it did it some time during the night while idle. It is a random problem, it may go for days with no issue then do it a few times back to back. I have also downloaded the Forum tool and have attached the file. Any help would be appreciated.

Just a few thoughts on some tests that might help pin down the problem, I'm going to go ahead and have you try running Memtest86+ for at least 8 passes (Tip: do it overnight)
also i would like you to run a
Code:
chkdsk /f /r
run this from an elevated command prompt, to open an elevated command prompt you open the start menu type cmd into the search box and then right click on cmd and select run as administrator if a prompt appears click yes.
next run an
Code:
sfc /scannow
again run this from an elevated command prompt.

The last thing i would like you to do is Enable Driver Verifierdo not be allarmed this will cause BSODs but it is meant to do that as it helps identify drivers that may be functioning impropperly and causing your BSODs

WARNING:
If you can not boot normally after enabling Driver Verifier boot into Safe Mode and then Disable Driver verifier

I would get rid of this program
Start Menu\Programs\Free Window Registry Repair, these types of programs generally do more harm than good

How many passes did you run for memtest ?
I would also perform a thorough HDD check Hard Drive Diagnostic Procedure

Then as mentioned above driver verifier may be your easiet option just remember to set a restore point and have recovery options in place place before you begin

I removed the registry repair some time ago. I turned on the driver verifier and nothing has happened as of yet. Followed the instructions found on this form and checked all drivers that are not Microsoft, according to the instructions. Nothing has come of that as of yet. (turned it on around 8am today)

FYI- Computer ran all day yesterday with NO BSOD.

UPDATE !!

I borrowed an identical computer from a co-worker late yesterday. I swapped hard drives in them and ran both last night. I tried to use both equal amounts and same resources. Nothing happened while working. I left both laptops running last night.

This morning I came into work and this is what I found:
My computer + friends hard drive = " Windows has recovered from an unexpected shutdown"
His computer + my hard drive = running perfect.

I am guessing this means some sort of equipment failure. So,,, in MY computer with HIS hard drive, I removed a stick of RAM to see if it still gets a BSOD. The second stick of RAM that was in that computer I put into the other computer.

Any chance this may be caused from another hardware issue besides RAM?
