Long story short I went to my local computer's repair center to get maintenance on my hp's laptop fan, they fixed it but screwed the motherboard, after two months of ordering parts and not resolving the issue they decided to give me this Sony Vaio VPCEE33EL.

Everything was fine but then I started getting this BSODs, sometimes with amd_sata.sys error and IRQL_DRIVER_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL, I updated drivers with Uniblue software and searching for them google style, the ones that seems to be having more issues is my wireless network adapter, "Atheros 9285" which disconnects after working for some time, (could be after 5 min of restarting or 15 hours later) not letting me connect to any networks (red cross) and I need to restart in order to reconnect wirelessly, I can tell it is the wireless adapter, because after connecting an ethernet cable it connects.

I searched other posts of similar BSOD and saw the memtest test, I ran two modules of memtest overnight (14 hours) (updgraded recently to 6gb from 2gb) and no errors were found. Don't know if it affects that I ran these tests on safe mode bc I was getting the BSOD randomly in normal Windows.

Any help would be really appreciated.

These were Related to amd_sata.sys AHCI 1.2 Device Driver from Advanced Micro Devices. Yours is dated 2010 and I suspect there is newer if you go directly to the web site instead of usiing the "driver sweeper" type apps.

I can´t locate this AHCI 1.2 Driver in Device Manager, mine says it´s IDE "AMD SATA CONTROLLER" I forgot to say that I have the Disk Drive from my old HP computer installed on this one, could that be causing any problems?
