Solved Random bsod help needed

Hi I have been having random bsod for a while mainly when play games but sometimes with other programs. I have updated all drivers but this hasn't stopped it. I have attached the zip file from SF Diagnostic Tool.

Your crashes are all over the place. From video, to file system, to USB, to memory, to random other hardware. This is normally a very strong case of a general hardware problem.

I would:

1. Check PSU voltages. Make sure hardware components are being adequately fed power.
2. Disconnect all unnecessary hardware. Disable onboard sound, I/O ports, RS232 ports, IEEE1394, USB, additional Ethernet ports, etc. Remove what you can and strip the system down to its bare hardware configuration (that will allow you to surf the web).
3. Replace components that you can't simply remove.
4. Replace the entire PC?

Thanks for relying, I'm not sure I can check the psu voltages as I dont have a tester. I thought that you would have referenced the various crashes I had and provide step by step method of eliminating them in a more detailed way as I have seen in other threads.

To throw all this at me in a short reply seems odd.

Because the crash dumps show evidence that hardware is failing which is why I'm suggesting hardware-based diagnostics.

If you want a long and lengthy reply that suggests 20 or 30 irrelevant steps, which will get you no closer to solving your problem, then I could copy and paste some suggestions from other threads.

If you don't have a multimeter or some other tool to check PSU voltages then it's fine to skip this step and start removing/disabling components that aren't necessary. Doing this will also reduce the load on the PSU.

Hi thanks for the explanation peebee sorry about my previous remarks.

I have now got to the stage when I might have found the problem, (I hope).

I found quite a few instances where Avast anti-virus had left reg entries and other files all over the place after I had un-installed it, and traced 1 particular problem to the fact that it was still running in a way, all removed now. I then removed all hd's gfx card and all external usb devices, in fact down to basic psu, cpu, internal gfx with minimal ram. Thought it had been fixed but no!.

With gfx card out totally removed all amd/ati drivers etc and cleaned. Then re-installed gfx card and very latest catalyst/drivers. Fixed yes, then no!

Hd's checked in various ways, and boot partition checked with sfc /scannow.

Light just went on while pc was trying to post noticed that the dram check light kept coming on and causing it to run tests and most times would not even post, when the dimm 1 slots (A & B) were populated, so tested each of all slots with 1 stick of ram. Dimm 2 (A & B) did not cause the same problem, but if either slot of dimm 1 was populated it changed. I am now running on 2 x 2GB mem in dimm 2 slots and no light no testing and quick post and boot.

I am going to run now as normal on this mem and see what happens in the next few days, I hope the system will now be stable, I can easily get some bigger ram to replace the 4Gb and just not use the other slots.

Once again thanks, and I will leave it until the weekend and post if there are any other problems.

Hi well it looks like it was the bad dimm slots causing my multiple blue screen crashes. Since I posted the previous message I have not had any at all. So problem solved at last.
