Solved Random BSOD involving ntoskrnl.exe (nt+0x70400)

The drivers need to be reinstalled, you can get them from your motherboard manufacturer mostly.
Again, do NOT back up drivers.

With the reinstallation of Windows, only drivers from Windows itself are reinstalled. You could get some drivers from Windows Update, but those can also be retrieved from your motherboard manufacturer or other official sources.

Do NOT use utilities like DriverTuner, not trustworthy and cause issues.

Thanks to both of you. I've never reinstalled Windows before and I guess I dread it because of the potential hassles. I guess I'll just have to man up!

Will there be a long period of down loading and installing Windows Updates?

WU is broken for me now and I'm hoping that is one of the problems that a clean install will take care of.

I restored a macrium disk image from 3 years ago. It was successful. Getting it back to where I want it will be some work. No crashes of the OS or Firefox as I was having before though!
