I have been getting random crashes of the laptop (BSOD) with IRQL_GT_ZERO_AT_SYSTEM_SERVICE 5/6 times and one BAD_POOL_CALLER in the past 2 months. Another laptop, a Dell inspiron also running Bitdefender Total 2015 has had similar BSOD though I am only uploading my primary laptop (a Vaio) files here as per the forum instructions.

The crashes all have occurred at various times, no set pattern, at start-up, half-way through work and just idling.

Please advise.

Thank you.

Hi gbbg.

Uninstall BitDefender. How to uninstall Bitdefender
Use Microsoft Security Essentials as your antivirus with windows inbuilt firewall, and free MBAM as the on demand scanner.

The Netgear NetUSB MasterBus is failing, too.
Code:
BugCheck C2, {7, 109b, 4080009, fffffa800a7671f0}

Get any possible update to your netgear device form the device manufacturers website. BTW, do you use Genie on a regular basis?

Free up the startup. Windows does not need any other program to auto start with it, but the auto start programs often conflicts and causes various problems including BSODs.

  1. Click on the Start button
  2. Type “msconfig (without quotes), click the resulting link. It will open the System Configuration window.
  3. Select the “Startup” tab.
  4. Deselect all items other than the antivirus.
  5. Apply > OK
  6. Accept then restart.
Let us know for any further BSOD.

thanks Arc. I kinda knew Bitdefender was the troublemaker. But is there any alternative to uninstalling and not using it? I paid for the damn thing! ;)

Unfortunately not. Even if you disable it, it will be able to throw the issue.

As you have the license, you can use it any time later.

Thanks for the quick reply. I just activated the license few weeks back so the clock is ticking. But at least I can now escalate it to Bitdefender support.

They will not accept that BD can cause an issue.
