Hi all, I wonder if someone can help?

My PC crashes quite randomly, it doesn't seem to be when I'm doing anything specific or with any particular app or task.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Hello mate wonkybingo.

Can you uninstall roxio as a test?

And Free up the startup.

  1. Click on the Start button
  2. Type “msconfig (without quotes), click the resulting link. It will open the System Configuration window.
  3. Select the “Startup” tab.
  4. Deselect all items other than the antivirus.
  5. Apply > OK
  6. Accept then restart.
Let us know the situation after doing these two .... we will go through some other and deeper steps depending on the results.

Yes, go for it.
Any single program is not needed to run windows. All the programs are installed, and you can use them anytime from start> all programs. They need not to auto start with windows. When they do, they often cause problems.

Give it a time now.

Roxio was making some issue during startup for sure, but there may be some other things.

In the mean time, follow it: http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/174459-dump-files-configure-windows-create-bsod.html
Go to Option Two, Point 2. Download the .reg file and merge it in registry by double clicking it.

In the occurrence of the the next BSOD (I wish there is no more though), a minidump will be recorded.

Search the .dmp files manually in the default path: C:\Windows\Minidump or %SystemRoot%\Minidump. Post it following the Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) Posting Instructions.

Also, if you use any disc cleanup program like CCleaner or TuneUp, dont use it within the testing time. They cleans the minidump folder up.

So Roxio is gone?

Now try to update TC NEAR: Audio Interface software from Software - Support | TC Electronic

Follow it: How to Revert the Win7 1394ohci.sys to the Legacy Driver

Uninstall these:
Code:
Start Menu\Programs\Dell
Start Menu\Programs\Dell\Dell Software & Utilities
Start Menu\Programs\Dell DataSafe
Start Menu\Programs\Dell DataSafe Online
Start Menu\Programs\Dell Support Center
BTW, the computer is a factory installed one I guess?
