Very frustrated here. Persistent random BSOD's when streaming video or gaming. Local repair shop ran diagnostics on all hardware, said everything checked out fine on stress tests. Have upgraded video card thinking that might be the culprit, to no avail. Did a fresh install of Win 7, to no avail.

Please help, I'm out of my depth at this point.

Looks like you may have a problem with either your L1 cache or Processor.

This error does not always indicate a failure in the processor, it can be caused by problems with the BIOS or system drivers. But as you can see from Section 0 that this was a failure during a read operation of the L1 processor cache.

Checked your BIOS and it is up-to-date according to your manufacture.

If you no longer use Samsung Printer let me know and I will show you how to delete the driver.

We need to stress test your processor which will help determine whether a hardware issue exists.

Follow the tutorial and download the correct Prime95 for your system, found here:

Hi

It maybe another issue if Prime95 found no errors, maybe be a problem with the L1cache, so I would hold off spending money just yet :) try running it again just to be sure.

I will ask another member to have a look, just incase Ive missed anything.

Cheers

Dave

I've gone ahead and put in a new CPU. I'll watch some video and game a little over the weekend to see if the problem replicates.

Dave,

Thanks for the follow-up. So, it's been 7 days on the new CPU, with nary a bsod to be found. We've done normal light computing tasks (MS Office), web browsing including streaming video, and gaming (Diablo 3).

At this point, with a week solid of stability, I have to conclude the CPU was the culprit.

So, the only remaining mystery for me is figuring out why the cpu was only crashing on certain content and not others. The fact that it passed the Prime95 torture test but would bsod when my wife watched Vampire Diaries (I know, bleh...) is baffling.

@ lynesjc:

Thanks for the feedback, It could possibly have been a problem with the the L1 cache,
L1 cache is the fastest cache and it usually comes within the processor chip itself, although
we cant be 100%, hope this helps clarify?

Glad the problem has been resolved, please mark the thread as solved if you feel your issue has been sorted.

Thanks kindly,

Dave
