Hello, this is my first post here.

Today I tried Crysis 2 after couple of weeks. In previous days, my flat had unpredictable power cuts, I am just writing it here in case it helps anything.

So I have Win7 Professional 64bit, freshly installed on HDD like a week ago. I don't have many games and so far I've got no problems running anything whatsoever. Today it's the third time I got BSOD which is attached.

My specs:
AMD Phenom II X4 965 @ 3,2Ghz each ( No OC )
4GB DDR2 Ram
Nvidia GTX470 DX11
WIN 7 Professional 64 bit.

Anyone got anything? I am frustrated. It happens in Crysis 2, when browsing google Chrome, or randomly in Windows. Thanks for any info.

Hi Mysho welcome to SF :)

Please uninstall your nvidia software\driver.

Download the most recent driver from
Drivers - Download NVIDIA Drivers

Install the new software\driver.

Update DirectX Download Details - Microsoft Download Center - DirectX End-User Runtime

Run the http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/160729-nvidia-video-card-test-occt.html

Post back the results.

Thanks for your suggestions. :)

I already had latest Nvidia drivers (280.26 whql) but I decided to upgrade anyway to 285.27 beta drivers.

When clicking and running your DirectX link - that one said I already have newer installation in my PC and this one was not needed and aborted.

As for the OCCT. I downloaded it, tried to run the 1 hour GPU test as stated in tutorilal. After like one minute and 15 seconds my screen got black and PC restarted itself.

Also I think the problem worsened with new drivers, because my PC froze twice in Google Chrome while I was trying to write this message. I really don't get it, like 3-4 days ago everything worked fine, can't think of anything I installed because I really did not install things often. It just randomly started screwing up...

Sometimes I get the BSOD message when I start Windows next time, sometimes it just goes to black screen and either stops working totally or restarts itself. I had many years XP and I had never such a problem... What would you suggest? I am out of ideas really. :/

If you cannot run and finish the OCCT you may have a faulty hardware. (gpu,ram...)

Check gpu, cpu, motherboard temperatures and post them here, you can use speccy
Speccy - Standard

Take a snip from the summary and upload it here.

Then try to run memtest86 if its possible leave it to run overnight.

And next the prime95

Hello panais,

I just tried something which somehow solved the problem for now. I removed the side panel of my case and so far it's working hours without any BSOD.

I cleaned up fans from dust as well as tried to remove/put back on RAMs and my GTX470. I'll leave it with side panel opened, it looks like it was overheating issue.

If any problem shows up I'll remind here, so far everything is working. Thanks for your time and help. Fingers crossed I will have no more problems with such issues.
