Random BSOD

Good Evening,

I've been getting BSODs 3 times a day. I think the culprit could be ram. I've swapped out my RAM to times already and i even performed a new installaton of windows. I've been researching the BSOD error messages, but no luck.


Error message: SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION 0x0000003b


OS: Windows 7 x64 Professional OEM

Has any experienced a similar issue? Thanks

please upload your .dmp files by following these instructions and we can hopefully glean more information and possibly help identify your driver or hardware issue ?

Any thoughts? I usually get the BSOD when playing video games.

what power supply are you using ?

both .dmp files show a 3b error one blaming the NTkernel and the other blaming Steam.exe but neither will be a direct cause.

3b crashes are when an exception happens during a system service , pos Vcore or voltage instability, or I have seen this with avast AV ?

are there any clues in your Reliability History ?

also please download and run CPU-Z select the memory and speed tabs and post the screenies here ?

I have a COOLER MASTER Silent Pro M600 600W power supply. There isn't much in the Reliability history since i formatted it a week ago. I'm running NOD32 AV. But i tried uninstalling my AV and i'm still getting BSOD.

I think this could be memory voltage settings and I assume it is currently set to auto in the bios ?

If this is the case try setting the voltage manually to 1.5v and monitor for problems ?

Thanks for your help. I've tried changing the voltage settings to the correct one, but i'm still getting BSOD. I swapped out my RAM 3 times, testing each slot. I spoke to ASUS teck support and they said I need a larger power supply, and think that's insane. Am i'm missing something?

power supplies can cause crashes like you are getting so it might be worth trying another to eliminate it as a possibilty, but better to borrow one rather than splash out and buy one ?
