Solved Random BSOD

Recently reinstalled w7 after having problems with BSOD and what appeared to be a network card problem. I had lost all ability to connect to either wifi or wired internet. Problem was NOT with my router, it was working with other equipment.

i had been wanting to install 64bit, so i decided to just go for a complete clean install. No problems there. After the install i had a few problems with laptop shutting down while installing updates. Eventually got updates installed including SP1. After that, no problems...until now, another BSOD. I had just installed some software, Flash, 7Zip and Chrome Beta when the BSOD occurred.

The laptop i use is about two years old. Originally had Vista installed. Installed W7 ultimate 32bit over vista

If any other information needed just ask.

Is Vipre the cause? The drivers I can understand.

I bloody knew that deal on Vipre was too good to be true! £10 for a lifetime licence!!? should've just stuck with MSE in the first place. :-)

I'll have a look for them drivers when i get back to the laptop in question.

Right then, i have done all the above and i'm just away to reboot. If you don't hear back from me know why.

PS. After uninstalling Vipre and installing MSE, the laptop went into a spasm of BSOD. I unplugged everything from it and that seems to have helped....so far.

Things have just got a whole lot worse! As soon as I get to my desktop BSOD! Everytime!

It just ran a disk check and rebooted and.... Everything is buggerd up! No aero.. That's strange.

What do you need to know to fix this?

I updated them last night before the fun really begun.

It seems that after a few BSoDS and just plain weirdness, that thing have settled down. As for the Conexant drivers, have you seen the drivers they offer on that page? i enclose a pic for your perusal, ther is no way they can be of use...can they?

As for the Memtest, i'll give that a go ASAP.
