Hi,
I have a multiboot system. I got so fed-up with Widows 8 being so slow and annoying that I bought a ssd and installed windows 7 64 bit on it but I keep getting bsod. Sometimes when shutting down, sometimes when coming out of sleep, sometimes when closing Blu-ray writer.
Thanks Robby

Hi

I'm afraid there is no info/logs/dumps in the zip file you uploaded

Please reconfigure windows to collect the correct info
You want small memory dumps - "MiniDumps"

Hi,

Still a bit of info missing from the logs, nevertheless:

Uninstall Avast from your system as it is contributing to your BSOD's:

:ar: http://www.avast.com/uninstall-utility

As an alternative download:

:ar: Microsoft Security Essentials

Recommended from a strict BSOD perspective, compatibility & stability
compared to other antiviruses/internet security software.

   Note
Once downloaded, update and run a full system scan

This driver/program needs uninstalling or updating as it pre-dates Win 7:
Code:
Driver: [COLOR=red]wdcsam64.sys[/COLOR]
Dated: Wed Apr 16 09:39:08 [COLOR=red]2008[/COLOR]
Related to: Western Digital SCSI Architecture Model (SAM) WDM driver
2008 driver version has known [COLOR=blue]BSOD[/COLOR] issues in Windows

Website: :ar: WD Support / Downloads / Select Product

Code:
Driver: [COLOR=red]mv91xx.sys[/COLOR]
Dated: Thu Jul 01 02:55:14 [COLOR=red]2010[/COLOR]
Related to: Marvell MV91xx AHCI/RAID driver
Update website: :ar: Marvell - Support - Driver Downloads

I cannot find any references to this driver anywhere and it maybe suspect malware/virus

Driver: rikvm_1678FD91.sys

I recommend running a few scans to be safe:

Please download Malwarebytes:

Download

   Note
Do not start the free trial of Malware Bytes, deselect that option when prompted.

Run a full scan once downloaded, installed and updated.

VIRUS SCANS:
Run these programs to check for virus infection:

still doing it

Hi Dave,
Well I can rarely get as far as booting to the Windows 7 64 bit ssd operating system. It even bsod when i boot into safe mode! Its hard to do anything when this is going on so I've booted to another drive which is Windows 7 32 bit. now its bsod(ing) and it didnt last time i used it, two or three weeks ago. I've done my best updating the wd drive but I think thats the latest version, I've unplugged that external drive anyway. The Marvel driver also seem to be the latest , the bsod mention this driver (see jpg screen grab). the driver is for apair of asus u3s6 pcie cards (i have two installed). I have run the Malwarebytes on these two operating system drives with no errors/viruses but i can't do a complete scan because of coninuing bsod, also i've removed avast and put back security essential, again i cant do a full scan due to bsod. lastly, i've run the full sf diagnostics tool on this windows 7 32 bit before it bsod file attached, any further ideas?

Hi,

If your Blue screening in Safe-mode then that indicates possible hardware issues.

Firstly I would suggest you update the Firmware on your SSD to the latest version.

   Note
Read manufacturer's instructions carefully before proceeding

Your logs show these faulting drivers:

Code:
Driver: [COLOR=red]intelppm.sys[/COLOR]
Dated: Tue Jul 14 00:11:03 [COLOR=red]2009[/COLOR]
Relates to: Intel Processor driver
Use the Intel® Driver Update Utility to check for the latest driver:

:ar: https://downloadcenter.intel.com/Default.aspx

Also the Marvell drivers are still causing issues (which is the driver in the jpg):

Code:
Driver:[COLOR=red] mv91xx.sys[/COLOR]
Dated: Thu Jul 01 02:55:14 [COLOR=red]2010[/COLOR]
Related to: Marvell MV91xx AHCI/RAID driver

The driver I suggested previously is dated 20/1/2012 and is newer than the one you have installed,
here is the direct download link :):

Download

I also notice your C: drive has only 35GB free space,
I would suggest uninstalling any unwanted programs and also free up disk space:
:ar: http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/129976-hard-disk-space-free-up-recover.html

Run SFC to check the integrity of all Windows 7 system files:

Click on the Start > Type in search cmd
Right click cmd at top and Run as Administrator
Type SFC /scannow at the prompt
(Note: there is a space between SFC and /scannow)

:ar: http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/1538-sfc-scannow-command-system-file-checker.html

   Note
Select option two. If any problems are found, run the scan 3 times and immediately reboot the computer after each scan.

Blu ray

Hi Dave,
intelppm.sys is the latest driver version. I've had a look at this and other forums and there seems to be a consensus that it’s not an Intel driver but part of the operating system, i.e. Microsoft. Anyway I've run that Intel update program and it claims everything is up to date.
mv91xx.sys. this is the driver for asus pcie card u3s6 and it is the latest driver. The link you sent me I've already been to and when I try to update the drive to your link windows refuses telling me it’s not compatible. Interestingly I have a couple of Marvell Yukon 88E8056 PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet Controller and they are both running this driver very happily!
I've run sfc /scannow on both operating systems and both are ok with no fix required.
So I have two asus u3s6 pcie cards and connected to the first of these is a 60gb ssd as well a flash card reader, both work fine. The other has a 256 ssd and a recently installed lg bh16ns40 bluray burner. This replaced a dvd writer and it worked fine for first few weeks but I've just unplugged it and the bsod have stopped on both os. It has the latest firmware. perhaps that’s the issue??? Give me another 5 minutes and perhaps I’ll get bsod again!
What do you think?

Ahhh sorry for the confusion, your quite correct intelppm.sys process is part of
Microsoft Windows, but I meant for you to see if there were any relevant updates
relating to Intel, not for the driver itself...my bad..was any updates listed?

Hmmm...interesting as the mv91xx.sys driver is listed as
Marvell MV91xx AHCI/RAID driver @ :ar: DRT.

Can i ask the source where you got -
mv91xx.sys driver is for "asus pcie cards u3s6" as according to your
msinfo32 file the driver is for:

Marvell 91xx SATA 6G Controller (SCSI)

Just trying to determine the correct device :) either way, the mv91xx.sys
driver is causing issues and needs updating, go to device manager under "disk drives"
and see if you can update that way or check Windows updates (especially Optional Updates).

Problem Devices:

You also have driver issues with Renesas Electronics USB 3.0 driver.
Driver: nusb3hub.sys
NEC Electronics USB 3.0 Host Controller Driver (previous BSOD issues with 2010 and earlier versions)

Try OEM first - Drivers available at the following link require registration and a lot of research:

[FONT=&quot]Hi Dave,[/FONT]
[FONT=&quot]re intelppm.sys, intel does not list any update unfortunately. [/FONT]
[FONT=&quot]re mv91xx.sys, weird that it refers to it as a raid because that's one thing you cant do with a u3s6 card!. I'm assuming its for the asus card but i guess it could be something else I haven't thought of! There is no way to update this driver from device mager via update driver, even if i choose the files from a list!
re [/FONT]
enesas Electronics USB 3.0 driver, thats part of the same asus u3s6 card, and the only usb3 device i have on my pc. Asus are really worth avoiding if you want driver/firmware future support.....a bit late now for me! Any more ideas...why has the bsod stopped happening with the two windows 7 os since i removed the lg blyray and how come i can re-attach the lg bluray and it all works fine with windows 8!!!!

Strange indeed.

I have found all the drivers/firmware updates for your U3s6 PCIe cards on Asus website.
Perhaps try updating the firmware/drivers if they are not the latest.

Also I would update or rollback the Renesas Electronics USB 3.0 drivers as they show
"System failure" as the error code in your msinfo32 file.

The prima facie cause of the BSOD is Marvell 91xx SATA 6G Controller.

  • Adaptec RAID 2805 (arcsas_sbs.sys)
Feel free to uninstall Marvell 91xx SATA 6G Controller. Its poorly coaded and always problematic. First uninstall it in Control Panel > Programs and Features. Then follow Drivers - Clean Left over Files after Uninstalling to get rid of any leftovers of the driver.

Also make it sure that all the OCZ SSDs are running with updated firmware.

Some other issues are there, as Intel RST ....

but will concentrate on it after seeing the Marvell-less situation.

Let us know after uninstalling Marvell.

Hi Dave and Arc,
re firmware/driver updates from that asus site, I have them all already.
re roll back driver Renesas Electronics USB 3.0 that option is greyed out in device manager!
Re the interesting ides of just removing that troublesome drive Marvell 91xx SATA 6G Controller after updating firmware, well I've done that and the system is running. I've run the diagnostics tool and attached the zip. Any further ideas?

Hi Dave,
I've just had another bsod, file attached. Since removing mv91xx.sys the pc had been not been bsoding but the usb3 connectors don't like me connecting usb3 flash card readers. It only every downloads about 3% of a card before telling me the destination has been lost! Also I have an internal sata flash card reader connected to one of the asus pcie u3s6 cards but I used to get read speed of 100mb/s but now I get about 9-15 mb/s. Is it time to just buy a new motherboard or is there another option?
Thanks
